Potts Volumne Visualization Examples

This page contains some examples of volumne visualization techniques applied to the Potts model data. The dataset is from Debasis' diffusion tests. The concentration data is phony.

All images were created using VTK.

Everything rendered as a single volume. The opacity (transparency) for the cells (type 2, 3) is 1.0 and the opacity for the fluid particles is .01. Higher opacities make it more difficult to see into the lattice.

Three slices and the cell volume. The countours were created based on the cell type and the field slices represent chemical concentration at each point. The blue/green blobs are cells of type 1 and 2.

Just the cells. (fluid opactiy set to 0.0)

Two slices. The countours were created based on the cell type and the field slice represents chemical concentration at each point.

Three slices. The countours were created based on the cell type and the field slices represent chemical concentration at each point.

Each point on the lattice rendered with a concentration slice (fluid points are red, cells are green and blue and are just visible in the center). At this resolution (72 dpi), it's very hard to see into the lattice. Also, moire patterns tend to dominate the image.
