Parallel MP3 Encoding
Why did you do this?

1. Because serial MP3 encoding just takes too long
2. I had free time during some really long compiles
3. It's a great teaching tool for parallel computing
4. It just needed doing
5. There are just too many idle workstations sitting around
6. Why make my workstation slow, when I can make everyone's workstation slow?
7. I have lots of CDs; encoding them in serial would take until the heat death of the universe
8. Bring parallel computing to the masses
9. Everyone needs a bit of parallel computing in their lives
10. I needed another distraction from my real work (no, really)
