Shape & Form

Sometimes pictures are interesting—a picture of the ceiling at an airport, a picture of the numbers on someone's house, a picture of a lamp—not because of their subjects per se but because of the shape, the texture, the contrast. This is a gallery of such pictures; in selecting these, I have restricted myself to pictures that have no visable animals or people and to those that I have never posted before. (As background: This whole thing started when I made cookies one night and was impatiently waiting for them to cool. I figured: ‘They may be too hot to eat, but I can at least take pictures of them.’–... and things went from there.) (N.b., In a break with my normal in-camera-editing policy, some of these pictures have been subjected to some minor edits.)
